We are in love with this beautiful new home in Newport Beach we collaborated on with Shoreline Developers! We started the creative journey for this home, with Shoreline, in August 2014. We are so thankful that Jim Cefalia (owner of Shoreline Developers) includes us in both the big and little details along the way. Working with Jim is so fun and inspiring. Between us, he really pushes me to think outside the box and welcomes design input and crazy ideas (ideas which may seem crazy at the time)!
This project is unique in many ways and different than other specification homes we have worked on in the past because we have had the honor of working with the new homeowners, who purchased this amazing property in July, before completion. Working with this lovely couple during the building process allowed the clients the opportunity to add some of their personal flavor to the final details of the home. This was a fun process and I fell in with working with them.
If someone were to ask me what my favorite design detail of this home is, it would be hard to pick because this home is so stunning. It is also hard to narrow down my favorite because I am so emotionally attached to so many finishes and applications in the home, still I will narrow it down to three.
One of my favorite details is the stair design. Early in construction I recommended we opened up the bottom landing of the stairs so you can approach the stairs from the front door or the great room side. I love how open and chic this feels.
I am also in love with the foyer ceiling detail (thank you Jim for trusting me on this). We used natural walnut and created an open slat, floating ceiling detail highlighted with LED lighting.
Last but not least, can you say Athens Silver Cream Marble?! Check out this gorgeous, light creamy, striated stone in the master bathroom from Ann Sacks. I love this master bath! It is an in home spa, including a fabulous soak tub and steam shower.
We are so thankful for this design journey with Shoreline Developers. It has left me dreaming about our new projects on the horizon.
